TikTok is the official entertainment partner of Eurovision

The Eurovision Song Contest will have TikTok as the official entertainment platform. The event takes place in Liverpool.

TikTok was selected by the European Broadcasting Union as the Official Entertainment Partner of the 67th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest.

In this important role, for the second consecutive year, the platform will aim to make known to its community one of the most renowned musical events in the world, through livestreamsexclusive in-app content like performances and behind-the-scenes news, and music playlists.

With over 7.8 billion views expected through Eurovision, TikTok aims to make the Eurovision Song Contest an even bigger event. This is the second year that the platform has played an important role in taking the event further in Europe and the world, setting trends and celebrating music and culture.

Rich Waterworth, managing director of TikTok operations in Europe, explained that: “entertainment is at the heart of TikTok”. “We are thrilled to partner once again with the Eurovision Song Contest to bring the magic of the world’s biggest live music event to our community,” he added.

Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool

This year, the event will take place in the city of Liverpool, England, on behalf of Ukraine, which won last year’s edition, with the participation of the Kalush Orchestra in 2022. Ukraine will be celebrated and represented during this edition.

Martin Österdahl, Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest states that “millions of new Eurovision Song Contest fans discovered the event through TikTok last year and we know that millions more people will be excited about this year’s extra special event in Liverpool”.

Mimicat was the winner of the 57th edition of the Festival da Canção, in Portugal, with the song “Ai Coração”, and it will be the fifth performance in the first semifinal, scheduled for the 9th of May.

Fans of the music event can follow the contents through the #Eurovision, and create your own content, sharing the joy and creativity with all your followers.

Exclusive content related to what happens behind the scenes and all the artists will be available on the official @Eurovision account. Fans can also follow their favorite artists and watch the two semi-finals, which take place on May 9th and 11th, and the Grand Final, scheduled for May 13th.

TikTok community

TikTok has partnered with Visit Liverpool to provide fans with an official city guide. Creators can use “TikTok Places” to discover some of the community-recommended spots within the city, from the iconic Cavern Club, to must-visit vintage stores and fantastic dining destinations.

Liverpool is home to one of the most vibrant busking communities [artistas de rua] from the UK, who have made TikTok their world stage.

During the event, TikTok will showcase these places in Liverpool where the stars of this community got their start – with local artists performing for fans around the world.

Last year’s festival reached 3 billion views via the official #Eurovision2022 hashtag and over 5.8 million viewers tuned in to the three live streams, streamed from the official Eurovision TikTok account: the two semi-finals and the Grand Final itself.

The Grand Final on May 14 reached 3.3 million unique viewers and generated over 250,000 comments from those who tuned in.

Eurovision is a special event for the TikTok community. Some of the artists are well known in the community like Sam Ryder who represented the UK last year and came second in Ukraine with ‘Space Man’. Incidentally, Sam Ryder will be TikTok’s official Eurovision ambassador during the Eurovision Song Contest.
