Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles have taken a break after about two years together – something that Wilde is said to be taking hard. “She is disappointed,” a source tells us People.
Last week reported People that Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles had decided to take a break from their relationship after about two years together. A source told the paper that the separation was particularly difficult for Wilde:
“The break has been difficult for Olivia. They’ve had some problems, but Olivia thought they could work them out. She is disappointed. But it is a difficult situation.”
The reason for the break-up is said to be that Styles is “still touring and will now go abroad”, while Wilde is “focusing on his children and his job”.
A friend of the couple is said to have said that they simply “have different priorities that mean they cannot be together”.
Took the kids to Styles’ concert
The decision to take a break is said to have been made amicably, something confirmed by the fact that Wilde and her children Daisy, 6, and Otis, 8, were spotted at Styles’ concert in Los Angeles last Tuesday.
A source explains why Wilde went to the concert even though she and Styles were about to take a break from their relationship:
“They’re friends, you’ll still see them together,” the person says.
A second source added: “Things have been challenging for them as a couple because of Harry’s tour, while Olivia needs to spend time with her children in London, where they are with Jason.”
Met in 2020
Wilde and her ex, Jason Sudeikis, separated in 2020. Wilde previously claimed that she and Styles — who met while filming the movie Don’t Worry Darling – began their romance long after she and Sudeikis broke up:
“The idea that I left Jason for Harry is completely wrong,” Wilde said in an interview with Vanity Fair Earlier this year. “Our relationship was over long before I met Harry. Like any other relationship that ends, it didn’t end right away.”
However, opinions are divided as to whether the relationship with Sudeikis was really over before Olivia met Harry: according to E! News Sudeikis told GQ that they didn’t break off their engagement until November 2020 — the month after the filming of Don’t Worry Darling started.
