Gunilla Persson’s mother has passed away, the television profile on Instagram announces. “The person most valuable to me (apart from Erika) has left this earthly life tonight and my heart is bleeding,” she writes.
During yesterday, Gunilla Persson told her followers on Instagram that her mother Iris had been affected by covid and had been taken to hospital with low blood pressure.

After receiving treatment, Iris appeared to be on the mend. Therefore, it came as a shock to Gunilla when her mother’s condition suddenly worsened:
“I went down for half an hour in the cafeteria and told the nurse that I would be back soon and then I got the call – Her pulse was weak and the heart had stopped,” she writes.
In her post, Gunilla talks about the grief after her mother:
“I can hardly write these lines so many tears fall. I am still in complete shock. The person most valuable to me (apart from Erika) has left this earthly life tonight and my heart is bleeding.”
Getting support and love on Instagram
Through her daughter, Iris became a well-known face, and many are aware of Gunilla’s tireless efforts to give her the best possible care. In the comments section, scores of friends and followers have expressed their condolences to Gunilla and her family.
One of them is Anna Book, who has written:
“The way you have fought, given all your love, care and nurtured beautiful Iris it is nothing but admirable & it will forever honor you both. You have continued each other and Iris’ memory will live on through you and all of us who have had the pleasure of seeing and knowing your love for each other.”
Iris was 97 years old.
