Rafaela Pimenta, Erling Haaland’s agent, assured that Real Madrid has a “special magic” that makes it the dream of the players and he mentioned his idyll with the Champions League as one of the reasons for it.
The Norwegian’s agent spoke this Wednesday at the football and industry forum organized by the Financial Times in London and was asked about the most desired destinations by footballers.
Erling Haaland is having the best season of his career with 27 goals in 24 Premier League games on course to set a record in England’s first division.
During the summer of 2022 there was speculation about his departure for Real Madrid, but it was Manchester City who acquired the services of the player thanks in part to the fact that Haaland’s father wore that shirt.
The Norwegian has a five-year contract with Manchester City until 2027, but in 2025 he has an exit clause that some rumors indicate that he could choose to go to Real Madrid, although this is not confirmed.
“There is the Premier League and there is Real Madrid. They have something on their own that make them the dreams of footballers. Madrid has that magic. They have the Champions League”, assured Pimenta, who also commented on the reasons why Haaland opted for Manchester City in the last summer market.
Among them he highlighted the opportunity to work with Pep Guardiola, the attractiveness of the Premier and that his father, Alfie, also played there.
In addition, the agent praised the English competition and placed it as the best in the world.
“When I started in this, if I told a footballer that he had to go to England they would ask me:”What have I done wrong? Now, when I ask the players what they want, they tell me that they want to go to the Premier. They don’t tell me a specific team, they say the Premier”.
