Kevin Durant continues to experience an ordeal with injuries and this Wednesday, March 8, he was injured during the Phoenix Suns warm-up before the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder that took him out of the game and the home debut for the Arizona team was postponed.
Durant practiced tackles in warmups and, in one of them, slipped and sprained his left ankle.
The former player of the Golden State Warriors and the Brooklyn Nets stayed on the ground for a few seconds, before getting up without any particular problems, but the Suns reported shortly after that ‘KD’ would be sidelined with “left ankle soreness”.
The Suns are already enjoying Durant’s impact on the franchise and were coming to the meeting with the Thunder after adding three wins out of three after the addition of the double NBA champion, but the fans of the Footprint Center will have to wait to see their new idol on the track.
Durant debuted last week with 23 points against the Charlotte Hornets, 20 against the Chicago Bulls and 37 against the Dallas Mavericks, with decisive play for the victory included.
The forward was going to play his fourth game with Phoenix after the multiple trade that took him from the Brooklyn Nets to the Phoenix Suns ending the Irving-Durant era on the New York team. Kyrie Irving was also traded to the Dallas Mavericks for Luka Doncic.
Despite not having Durant, the Phoenix Suns took a 132-101 victory over Oklahoma thanks to guard Devin Booker who took charge of the offense in the absence of Kevin Durant.
With 44 points and a fantastic 17 of 23 shooting from the field (including 6 of 10 on 3-pointers), Devin Booker commanded the triumph of some Suns that have won four consecutive games.
