The Mexican striker Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernández was the great absentee at the start of the 2023 MLS season. The LA Galaxy missed their captain and franchise player as they were defeated on the road by FC Dallas 3-1.

Asked about this issue in the press room, the Galaxy coach, Greg Vanney, was inconclusive about the recovery of his scorer.
“I don’t know exactly when it will return (…) We are anticipating it to be 10 days or a couple of weeks. We will review how he is doing, when he can be in his best physical condition to play again, ”said the coach.
Previously, Chicharito Hernández himself, 34, had revealed through the social platform Twitch that he would not be in the LA Galaxy debut due to a hamstring injury in his right leg.
“I will be between two to five more weeks off because we must be very careful to avoid relapses,” Chicharito reported on Twitch.
The next LA Galaxy match will be on Saturday March 11 when they visit Sporting Kansas City and everything seems to indicate that the Mexican striker will not be in that match.
