Are Mobile Phlebotomy Services in San Diego Safe?

Are Mobile Phlebotomy Services in San Diego Safe?

Whenever something different is introduced in the medical arena, it’s wise to do your research and ask some questions. What side effects does that new medication have? What are the risks associated with that new medical procedure? Even if you are someone who isn’t naturally skeptical of anything that’s new or different, with things that affect your health and wellness, you are probably at least a little bit cautious.

When it comes to medical services, mobile phlebotomy is still relatively new to most people. They are used to driving to a lab or a patient service center to get their blood drawn. The idea of someone coming to their home or office to complete a blood draw is foreign to them, and understandably, they might be a little bit wary of using this type of service.

The truth is, mobile phlebotomy services in San Diego have been around for quite some time. However, in the past, these services were mainly used by homebound patients. All of that changed during the COVID-19 pandemic, when a lot of people were concerned about leaving their homes, and didn’t do so unless it was absolutely necessary. They were especially concerned about going to places like medical facilities where people could be infected with the virus. That’s when they found mobile phlebotomy services. Instead of being exposed to dozens of people in a waiting room or in the lab itself, they only had to come into contact with one person—the phlebotomist who came to their home to draw their blood.

Even now that the concerns about the coronavirus are mostly behind us, mobile phlebotomy services continue to be used by patients. People discovered that they liked the convenience of having someone come to them for their blood draws. They didn’t have to drive to a facility, wait in line, and then drive back. It saved them time, and it was just more convenient overall.

But is mobile phlebotomy safe?

When you work with a reputable mobile phlebotomy service in San Diego, such as Veni Health and Wellness Phlebotomy, it is absolutely safe! A good mobile phlebotomy company will take great care to ensure that everything is completely sanitary. Their phlebotomists will be highly trained and be licensed CPTs (certified phlebotomy technicians). In addition, they will have passed a background check and a drug test, so you can feel safe allowing them into your home.

Now, if mobile phlebotomy doesn’t sound like a service you want to try, you can certainly still go to a lab or patient service center when you need a blood draw, just know that mobile phlebotomy services are just as safe as the services you receive in a medical facility—only a lot more convenient!
