It has happened to me that sometimes I enter WhatsApp to reply to a specific message but I still don’t want to reply to another person, however, when seeing me ‘online’ the person I have ignored writes to me again and I have no escape. The simplest solution for this is that the application allows us to hide the ‘online’ so they will not know when we enter to check messages.
Until now, Meta, the parent company behind Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, had implemented this option in its two social networks, but not in its instant messaging app. Now, it seems that they finally listened to the pleas of the users. WABetainfo, a portal dedicated to WhatsApp news and updates, reported that, reviewing the beta for Android 22.214.171.124, they found clues that lead them to this new feature.
As reported by the portal, WhatsApp seems to be including an important update on privacy issues in its latest beta. Although we still do not know when this function will reach all cell phones in the official version of the application, we can be sure that we will soon be able to hide ourselves. This, without a doubt, is a function that complements the privacy of the app.

For example, in November of last year, WhatsApp added the option to hide the last connection to specific contacts. Since then, users can select who they want to share their status with. On the other hand, the app also added support for choosing who can see your profile information.
Now we only have to know the release date of this function, however, we can get an idea based on previous updates. We can think that this will also have the option to hide the ‘online’ for everyone, for no one or for some selected contacts. Once the function is confirmed, we will inform you on our portal.
