Although Silent Hill is usually a permanent topic when we talk about rumors, the last few weeks have been quite active on the subject. From the publication of some images (which, by the way, have been around for years), to certain reports that claimed to have internal information about a third game.

The most recent occurred this weekend when multiple sources claimed that a Silent Hill 2 remake was in the works. NateTheHate on Twitter, which claimed that Bloober Team, the studio behind Layers of Fear, Observer, and Blair Witch, is developing the remake for Konami.

The leak provides quite a few ‘details’ about this new game that was being developed. Apparently this remake would have new endings, as well as “modernize” the puzzles within the game. Rumors also claimed that this was not the only game in the franchise that was being worked on, but that there were apparently “different Silent titles in development. These rumors were later confirmed by Jeff Gruba Venturbeat journalist, who claimed to have heard similar rumours.

For now Konami has not responded to the rumors or confirmed if the information is close to some of the studio’s projects. In one, Piotr Babieno, CEO of Bloober Team, replied that they cannot confirm this information and that they hope that in the near future they will be able to share information ‘officially’.

“We can’t comment on anything we’re doing because we appreciate our relationship with our partners, of course. So we can’t say anything. We will make an announcement about our future projects as soon as we can. Then you will know much more.”

Perhaps the most curious thing about the most recent events is the response from the fans. Some have correctly pointed out that it seems impossible to please Silent Hill fans.
