Weezie, a startup from Porto that offers fiber optic network management solutions, is helping to bring fiber optics to areas of the US, through WeezieFiber, with Kentucky internet service provider, ZetaLink.
The WeezieFiber software works as an ecosystem that unites all those involved in the planning, deployment and control of fiber optic networks, allowing them to work on a single platform, with predefined rules, and in real time, anywhere.
The adoption of this software will not only provide ZetaLink with greater ease and efficiency in the deployment of its fiber network anywhere, but will also allow it to offer a better experience to the end customer.
Through the Weezie solution, ZetaLink will also be able to reduce its working time by 60% when compared to a traditional format, as well as reduce the incidence of non-conformities in fiber deployment by 90%.
important milestone
For João Sousa Guedes, CEO of Weezie, “entering the US represents a significant milestone for Weezie. We already had a strong presence in the European market by allowing our customers to take fiber optics to more than 50 million homes, but, in order to fulfill our goal of being world leaders, we still needed to enter the biggest market – the American one”.
“In this market there is considerable value, since the public investment planned by the Biden administration to bring the fiber to every American’s home alone, reaches 65 billion dollars”, said the official.
ZetaLink provides fast, reliable broadband Internet service in southeastern Kentucky, including Corbin, with plans to expand to Whitley, Knox and Laurel, where high-speed Internet is not yet developed.
Keeping up with Weezie’s growth and expansion, after having increased the number of employees by 50% in 2022, the startup intends to maintain this pace of growth in 2023 and is recruit different profiles from technology professionals – senior and junior -, specialized in the back-end and front-end areas, to profiles for the commercial and support areas.
