Use voice notes in your WhatsApp states? Soon you will be able to do it • ENTER.CO

If you are not a big fan of voice notes, the new WhatsApp update will surely not be among your favorites. As reported on WABetainfo, the instant messaging application is working on a new feature that will allow you to share voice notes in your statuses. This undoubtedly distances it from its rivals such as Telegram and Instagram, who do not have this option.

WABetainfo, a portal specialized in the updates that come out daily from WhatsApp, discovered this new feature in the latest version of the Android application. However, as we always report with these types of updates, it is just a test feature that they are experimenting with.

Although we still don’t know how this new function fully works, we can get an idea thanks to the screenshots shared by the news portal. They show that, in the floating menu, a button with the microphone icon will be added. That is, when you enter the ‘states’ tab of WhatsApp, you see that the camera icon appears at the bottom, with which you can upload your reel photos or take a new one. Above it, there is the button with a pencil with which you can write what you want from the app. Finally, you would find the new button above the pencil with which you can record your voice and upload it to your WhatsApp status.

We still need to know details such as: if there will be an audio limit or what the audio will look like in the states, but we are certain that if the function meets expectations, all these details will be known in the next beta of the app. Still, we expect that when it comes to status visibility, the user settings will be respected. That is, if you have blocked your statuses to certain contacts, it would be assumed that the audio statuses are not visible to these people either.
