After a year of the tragedy at the La Corregidora Stadium in the match between the Gallos de Querétaro and Atlasthe victims who suffered attacks have not yet claimed the 1.5 million pesos fund that the Mexican government allocated.
The amount of 1.5 million Mexican pesos was accumulated by the sentences of the 58 people who were accused and that this fund should be allocated to the 26 injured in the tragedy that occurred on March 5, 2022.
The authorities and Liga MX notified that none of the 58 people who were sentenced can re-enter the Estadio de los Gallos de Querétaro. The money cannot be used for anything else but for the victims of March 5.
ESPN reported that the victims refused to update the status of their compensation and they detailed that they have not received any bonus after the events that occurred a year ago.
None of the 58 responsible is being held in prison, although they have been prosecuted and three are still on trial awaiting their release.
The Querétaro team tried to reopen the stadium for March 5, but due to the fact that they did not comply with the requirements imposed by Civil Protection. Any of those affected can assist the Prosecutor’s Office to claim some amount for the repair of damages, which caused the brawl between Gallos and Atlas fans on March 5.
Querétaro defeated Toluca 1-0 on matchday ten of the Liga MX. On Saturday León beat San Luis 2-0 and this Sunday Puebla hit the Pumas UNAM in their stadium. The day began on Friday, when, in addition to Tigres’ victory over Necaxa, Mazatlán beat Cruz Azul 3-1.
The most striking result of the weekend was the victory this Saturday of Pachuca, 0-3 over América in their own stadium, the Azteca.
