The video of an Atlas fan physically attacking a UANL Tigres fan at the Jalisco Stadium has revived the controversy surrounding this match on matchday 8 of the 2023 Liga MX Closing Tournament and the behavior of its fans.
Through social networks, a video was broadcast in which you can see how some red and black fans insulted the visitors. A young man jumped a couple of lines to hit a man who was wearing a Tigres shirt and was being escorted by members of security.
The visiting fan did not respond to the attack and continued on his way while the vast majority made fun of what had happened and the La Academia fan insulted him yelling “Chin** your madr* pu**”.
The images were shared on Twitter 24 hours after the match by a user identified as Rigo García, who showed a critical stance towards Liga MX and strongly attacked the red and black fans. “How long is Liga MX going to allow Atlas to continue in the first division? It’s fight after fight. They have the most caveman crowd in the entire league. A couple of days ago, shots were fired outside the Jalisco stadium. We have the history of Querétaro and I could continue”.
This publication served as a stage for another user to denounce the harassment he suffered a couple of weeks ago when Rayados de Monterrey played at the Jalisco Stadium. “They also took me out at minute 70 when Rayados played there two weeks ago and a guy from Atlas stood in front of me wanting to turn me on and the ‘Coli’ didn’t even say anything to him. What’s more, he told me not to stop and to keep walking, ”he denounced.
On matchday four against Santos Laguna, Atlas fans clashed with security members both inside and outside the sports venue and shots were heard.
