Perhaps there is no Cartoon Network classic that has gone through as many reviews as the Powerpuff Girls. Apparently the recipe for flowers, sugar and many colors is easy to follow as a new reboot of the cartoon has been announced, this time by Hanna Barbera.
The good news is that one of the minds behind the cartoon is back, with show creator Craig McCracken returning once again to direct the most famous trio of super heroines of the ’90s. Best of all, it’s not the only cartoon. which will have a new reboot with the announcement of a new ‘Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends’ show.
“Craig’s homecoming at Hanna-Barbera was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up. Along with his unparalleled sense of fun and imagination, he will bring two of his best works in The Powerpuff Girls and Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends and we are so excited for these characters to be part of the new legacy taking shape at the studio.”

For now, both projects seem to be signed for HBO Max, without clear dates for its premiere.
As we mentioned before, the case of The Powerpuff Girls is particular because of the number of reboots it has had. After the original series of 1998 Cartoon Network bet on a new show of 2016 that never finished convincing the audience. A live-action series was recently announced that was intended to tell an ‘adult’ version of its protagonists… and that has been postponed long enough that at this point we can confidently say that it has been cancelled.
