Guillermo Ochoa’s latest performances with Salernitana have led him to leave two consecutive clean sheets, a fact that has earned him the respect of Serie Awhere they already nicknamed him as “The Mexican Wall“. The former América goalkeeper has received the confidence of his new coach, Paulo Sousa, and has known how to respond in a great way.
In Salernitana’s victory over Monza and then in the goalless draw against Sampdoria, Paco Memo has been decisive and they have not conceded goals, helping the team that was in a difficult zone, to score and have a necessary break in the championship.
In this way, the Mexican goalkeeper got a new nickname in Serie A and they let him know in a publication through his official Twitter account with a photograph and a couple of emojis that referred to the 37-year-old goalkeeper as “The Mexican Wall“.
It should be remembered that Ochoa has been taken into account by Diego Cocca for another cycle with the national team and Memo has also been clear in stating that he wants to reach the 2026 World Cup. The 37-year-old goalkeeper is also wanted by teams like Inter and AC Milan, according to sports media reports in recent weeks.
Besides, Ochoa has been decisive in the matches played by Salernitana and shows with his performances that he is still in good shape and that he made a great decision to join Salernitana from Serie A in Italy.
