We note that the leaked trailer was removed and it is possible that the preview that we insert in this article will also be removed in the coming days, until Sony makes the official announcement.
We don’t think anyone asked for it…and there are certainly other things we’re looking forward to from Naughty Dog. But just before Summer Gamer Fest, an announcement trailer for a PS5 remake of The Last of Us has been leaked.
The trailer does not provide many details of the game and, in fact, was removed shortly after its leak, as well as information about the game on the PlayStation site. The game is now getting a new name with ‘The Last of Us: Part 1’ being its title. A change that does not mean that the remake comes in several parts, but rather that it is made to adjust the brand with the 2020 sequel.
The description of the remake reads the following:
“Enjoy a complete overhaul of the original experience, faithfully reproduced, but incorporating modernized gameplay, improved controls, and expanded accessibility options. Plus, feel immersed with enhanced effects and enhanced exploration and combat.”

The Last of Us remake follows the trend of the latest Sony games and will be available for the PS5 and PC. Tough luck if you want to enjoy the improved graphics on the PS4 Pro. The improvements that we can see in the preview is the 4K resolution (along with the visual update) and the promise of 60fps. In terms of content, The Last of Us: Part 1 will also include the expansion ‘The Last of Us: Left Behind’. This bonus content serves as a prequel and tells a bit about Ellie’s life before she met Joel.
The game will retail for $69. The release of the PS5 version will be on September 2, 2022, without a date for the PC version (which is listed as in development). The trailer seems to confirm more than a year of rumors that the next game in the franchise would be a remake of the first entry.
News in development.
