TeamViewer, a global leader in remote connectivity and workplace digitization solutions, strengthens its presence in Portugal by moving to a new office in Porto.
The new center is part of the company’s global R&D organization and will focus on the development of augmented reality solutions. Currently, with 30 highly qualified software and design engineers, TeamViewer expects to hire 25 more specialists by the end of the year.
TeamViewer: growing team
Driven by innovation and increasing customer demands, the software industry is developing dynamically. In this sense, TeamViewer increased the number of employees working in the R&D area by 20% in 2021, compared to 2020.
By establishing an additional R&D hub in Portugal, the company doubled the strategic advancement of its engineering capabilities dedicated to software innovation. A large part of the new AiStudio add-on that is part of the Augmented Reality software “TeamViewer Frontline” – and which consists of a self-learning algorithm to form Artificial Intelligence models for image and object recognition -, was developed in Porto .

The focus on augmented reality solutions that TeamViewer brings to the local ecosystem is a fundamental contribution to the positioning of Portugal as a leading technology hub in Europe”.

city in terms of promoting a robust and dynamic business ecosystem.
Team Viewer is a world leader in technology that provides a connectivity platform to remotely access, control, manage, monitor and repair devices of any type. Since the company’s founding in 2005, TeamViewer software has been installed on over 2.5 billion devices worldwide.
The company is headquartered in Goppingen, Germany and employs around 1,500 people worldwide. In 2021, it reached a turnover of around 548 million euros.
