Starter Company, a company that connects large companies with startups and itself startups with investors, raised $260,000 in investment in a pre-seed round.
With two years of operation Starter Company has been in charge of organizing events to create spaces and connections to develop open innovation projects. Through Bootstrapping and with the commercialization of its information and spaces, it is achieving significant growth.
The company just raised $260,000 investment in a pre-seed round led by Venture Partners, an investment fund of the Leonisa group.
Some of the events organized by the company are StartCo and Start TV. The objective of these spaces is to help emerging companies to obtain financing and investors to identify investment opportunities.
Precisely next November the ‘StartCo Caribe’ will be held where the company intends to gather more than 3,500 attendees among investors, entrepreneurs and businessmen, with the aim of consolidating Colombia as an attractive innovation hub for investment.
With the funding raised, Starter Company hopes to create an academy to accelerate early-stage businesses. In its first acceleration cohort, it aspires to accompany at least 10 companies during 2022.
Additionally, the company aims to begin its expansion process, taking its startup auction to several Latin American countries.
Starter Company was created by Tomás Ríos, Juan Gabriel Arboleda, Santiago Puerta and Santiago Mesa. It currently has a team of 10 people who work for the growth of the country’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
