Spotify’s home page is getting a makeover. And to that end, the online music platform is launching separate feeds for music and podcasts.
With these settings, the platform will make it easier for you to find what you are looking for. The existing feed on your home screen won’t change, but you will get new tabs that you can identify as “Music” and “Podcasts & Shows.” The functionality is focused on being able to show you all the Spotify recommendations in one place. Particularly in the music feed you will get new releases and playlists according to the music preference you have set in your profile.

On the other hand, the Podcasts and shows will keep you up to date with the latest episodes of the shows you follow. Although they will also show you trends of what you are listening to now. In this way, Spotify targets users in order to show them an easier way to access the content and programs they are following. In this way, the current trends that are circulating on the Spotify platform are also promoted.
This update is rolling out almost immediately to all platform users on Android. For its part, users of the iOS operating system will have to wait a little longer to get it. The easiest way to use this tool in Spotify is by tapping on the “Music” and “Podcast and Shows” icon that will be located at the top left of the Home screen. From there, you will be able to navigate to the recommendations given by the platform and you will also be able to navigate as if it were any other social media source.
This change in Spotify’s feed comes after ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, filed a trademark application with the US Patent and Trademark Office for “TikTok Music” in May, which would mean a tough competition for Spotify in the segment.
