Richard Neutra, an icon in modernist architecture, is behind Elsa Hosk’s house. The house from 1949 is located in South Pasadena, Los Angeles and the model lives there with her husband and the couple’s baby.
The house consists of, among other things, fantastic redwood ceilings, a magnificent fireplace and glass walls that open up the rooms with an incredible amount of light. Both the main building and the guest house are built in an inspiring and natural modernist style, and the garden has a pool and swings.
“I wanted to build a home that was really me”
A while ago, Elsa Hosk put her previous apartment up for sale. Located on the second floor of a 120-year-old building, it also contains everything we dream of. From incredible ceiling heights, huge windows and rustic brick walls indoors. Elsa Hosk bought the apartment in 2014 and renovated it for two years to absolute perfection with the help of Alveary Architecture. “I had a blank piece of paper to start from, something that was very exciting at the time. I wanted to build a home that was truly me,” says Hosk in an interview in Architectural Digest. Hosk decorated the home himself and was careful in his choice of furniture and art, something that really shows in the pictures below.
