Row Casa Portuguesa bets heavily on the Spanish fair Intergift

It is the great Iberian fair for furniture, decoration and gifts. Intergift runs until the 5th of February.

A significant contingent of national companies from the furniture cluster and the like travel to Spain for Intergift, the main furniture, decoration and gifts fair in the Iberian Peninsula, which takes place between February 1st and 5th.

The 43 brands to be present in Madrid are part of the various industries of the Fileira Casa, such as furniture, bedding, home textiles, cutlery, ceramics, lighting and upholstery.

This year, the ambition is to continue the route of exponential growth to the neighboring country, which represents the second most important destination worldwide for the companies of Fileira Casa Portuguesa, with a market share of 25%.

In 2022, more than 450 million euros of sales of products with the “Made in Portugal” seal abroad were destined for Spain.

Joaquim Carneiro, President of APIMA (Portuguese Association of Furniture and Related Industries), says that “Intergift is a key meeting point, at an Iberian level, to unite the brands of the Portuguese House File with the main decision-makers and prescribers in the area, through dimension that the Spanish market expresses. We congratulate all national companies that consistently present themselves, event after event, with original and differentiating stands”.

“Portuguese pieces are, more and more, an international example as the maximum exponent of creativity and quality, through innovative materials that honor the typical national attributes that distinguish us so much”, he concludes.

After a new successful edition of Maison&Objet in January, Intergift mirrors the second international foray of Fileira Casa companies in 2023, at a time that reveals the full return of fairs in physical format in the post-pandemic.

As an event with high commercial potential for the Portuguese delegation, close contact with professionals and buyers from multiple sectors represents a possibility for national companies to reinforce business opportunities and increase the volume of exports to different markets.
