Christmas mulled wine
About 1.5 litres
Ingredients:
5 dl red wine
2 dried figs
50 g fresh ginger
10 g whole, dried orange peel
5 cinnamon sticks
4 cloves
10 cardamom seeds
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1⁄2 dl freshly squeezed orange juice
1⁄2 dl raisins
7 dl brandy
Especially l1⁄2 dl cognac
For serving:
raisin
scalded almonds
Do this:
Day 1: Chop the figs. Peel and slice the ginger. Pour the wine into a saucepan and add the rest of the ingredients, except brandy and cognac. Heat carefully under the lid to approx. 70°. Pull to one side and add brandy and cognac. Pour into bottles and leave to infuse for 4 days.
Day 5: Strain the mulled wine. Serve the mulled wine hot.
