Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has had his next project announced and confirmed, but it’s not his 10th and final film.
The project in question was titled “Cinema Speculation”, and it is a book that will be released in 2022. It is a non-fiction work, which is described as a mix of film theory, criticism and personal stories, all this is framed by American films from the 1970s.
“Cinema Speculation” will be the second book by Quentin Tarantino, who released “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” in 2021. The book in question was inspired by the script of the 2019 film of the same name, and follows the protagonists of the long who were played, respectively, by Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt: TV actor Rick Dalton and stuntman Cliff Booth.
This new project by Quentin Tarantino will be published in the United States by HarperCollins, and has the following official synopsis translated: “In addition to being among the most celebrated contemporary filmmakers, Quentin Tarantino is possibly the most joyous and infectious film lover. For years he has anticipated in interviews his eventual turn to writing books about movies. Now, with ‘Cinema Speculation’, the time has come, and the results are everything its passionate fans – and all movie lovers – could hope for. Quentin Tarantino has already announced that he intends to retire as director after his 10th film in the role. So far, he has directed nine features in his career, and the wait for the 10th and final announcement continues.
“Cinema Speculation” will be released in the United States on October 25th. The publisher and release date of the book in Brazil have not yet been announced.
