Pokémon Violet and Scarlet will bring automatic battles to the Pokémon world • ENTER.CO

We are just over two months away from receiving the new generation of Pokémon. It’s an exciting time to be a fan of the franchise, considering Pokémon Violet and Scarlet anticipate bringing a lot of big changes to the franchise.

This Wednesday, September 7, The Pokemon Company presented a new preview of the game that revealed new details of the title. Unfortunately, Pokémon trailers aren’t always the best at presenting what’s new, so here at ENTER.CO we bring you a little breakdown of some of what you can expect.

Auto and open world combat

Pokémon Violet and Scarlet will take a lesson from Pokémon Arceus and allow players to start battles in its open world. We don’t know if it will also allow you to start different battles with other Pokémon. More importantly, you’ll be able to bring out your pokémon and give them commands to act automatically. This can be starting battles with wild Pokémon or picking up items. Keep in mind that auto battles don’t allow you to catch pokemon, only gain experience.

Dominant pokemon and tests

Legends: Arceus isn’t the only game Pokémon Violet and Scarlet take lessons from. The game will also bring back the dominant Pokemon from Sun and Moon. These are stronger versions of traditional pokemon and they can summon other pokemon to fight. His return raises the question of whether the SOS mechanic will also be brought back, which was one of the most effective ways to make shiny hunts in that generation.

It is not all. Each of the gyms will have a mini game that must be overcome before you can challenge the leader. Although puzzles are common in every Pokémon gym, it seems that these tests will seek to give the battles some variety.

Via Stardust and the new ‘evil’ team

The Pokemon Company had already anticipated that Pokémon Violet and Scarlet will allow you to do three different ‘campaigns’ in any order you like. One of these is called Via Stardust and its objective is to defeat Team Star, the ‘evil’ team in this game. They are the rebellious students of the academy and they are divided into different squads that you have to defeat.

Doing it is not easy. Each squad is located in a different area of Paldea. When you enter it, the members of the Star team will start sending waves of pokemon that you must defeat in battles. You can send out different pokemon at the same time and use the auto battle feature to fight your way through. Only until you have defeated a required number within the time limit will you be able to challenge the boss of each squad.

By the way, the final boss fight is not a traditional fight. The bosses will be mounted on a car called Autostar and that, apparently, will also serve as a target to attack since its engine seems to be/be possessed by a pokémon (we still don’t know its name).
