Forward Alexis Vega has been out of action for a while with a knee injury. However, Veljko Paunovic revealed that “if there are no setbacks”, Alexis Vega would return to action with the sacred flock for what would be the National Classic against Club América.
The strategist, as explained by himself, would count on the Mexican striker for what will be a key week for the Guadalajara teamright on Matchday 12 of the 2023 Closing Tournament of Liga MX.
“I think that Alexis is entering the key week that is next week, where he will participate practically one hundred percent where we look for him to be in his best physical condition”, Paunovic said at a press conference about the Aztec.
“If there is no setback he will be available for the classic and that is what we were all focused on doing and what that duo means to us, well, maximizing or doubling let’s say the power to affect rivals, to double the leadership power we have within the team”Paunovic added about Alexis Vega, an element that was at the Qatar 2022 World Cup with El Tri.

Vega left the Alfonso Lastras Stadium in tears during the match for Round 2 of the Clausura 2023 in the duel against St. Louis Athletic and left his position to Carlos Cisneros, who entered the pitch to replace Alexis.
