The director Patty Jenkins expressed her disagreement with the inequality that exists in the nominations for the Oscar award.

throughout his career Patty Jenkins has defended the work of women in the world of cinema, but the award nominations oscar this year they left her somewhat unsatisfied, especially those for the shortlist for Best Director, in which five men competed.
Jenkins (known for the two hit movies of “Wonder Woman”) spoke about it in a recent interview with Marc Malkin for Variety: “I give up, I give up. And I say this even with the insistence (of the Academy) to have diversity. The numbers are hugely unbalanced between those who vote for this. I just stopped paying attention to it. It is still a long way to go. It will take a lot more to really see more diverse prizes. I really appreciate the efforts they are making, but we have a long way to go.”
In less than three years, the two projects Patty was counting on have been cancelled: these were “Rogue Squadron” (a movie from the universe of “Star Wars”) and one third of “Wonder Woman”. will now produce “Poolman”a comedy film that will mark the directorial debut for chris pine.
