When Oscar Zia visits Carina Bergfeldt’s talk show on SVT, he talks about the background to his new song “Autopilot”, which was released last week. “You turn on something to continue conversations or listen, or just to cope even on the bad days,” he says.
Singer, songwriter, actor and presenter – Oscar Zia has many strings to his lyre and it’s no wonder that it gets a bit hectic at times. This is the background to his new song “Autopilot”, something he talks about when he is a guest on Carina Bergfeldt’s talk show.
“A way to cope on the bad days”
In the program, Zia discusses last year, which was a big year for him career-wise. In addition to conducting the Melodifestivalen, he also recorded the television program Weekend at Zia’s with his brother Dante, led the musical aid and had a summer tour.
Zia describes 2022 as a year when “dreams turned into experience”. However, it was simply not to handle the rough throws of the career:
“It was an incredible year and it was so much fun, but it was a lot. In the end I just answered emails without thinking. I went to work without my heart with me. It was the autopilot that was on.
He says that this “autopilot” became necessary to cope with the busy schedule:
“I think I have two sides. That you turn on something to continue conversations or listen, or just to cope even on the bad days. Then that button is incredibly helpful,” he says.
