Always viral for each of his publications on social networks, Óscar de la Hoya has expressed through Instagram that due to his current state he would love to be present on a professional boxing card.
“I’m so excited for the fights tonight, I wish I was on the card!”, put the boxing legend in a video in which he is seen wearing a boxing helmet and mentioning part of the evening last Saturday, mainly that of Luis “Pantera” Nery vs. Azat Hovhannisyan.
Accompanied by a laugh, his current partner, the exuberant Holly Sonderssaid: “This is the type of promoter I want to see more of.”
The publication added thousands of likes within hours of being shared, as well as hundreds of other comments, many of them joking (following the tone of the video) and others encouraging Óscar de la Hoya to train and give one last fight.
After his retirement in 2009 (more than 10 years ago), there was much rumor about a possible return to professional boxing for the legendary ‘Golden Boy’, however, he he dedicated himself fully to his company Golden Boy Promotions with which he has promoted the career of many boxers, including that of Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez.
His retirement was broken but with an exhibition match held in 2021, when he faced retired MMA fighter Vitor Belfort.
