Orbelín Pineda was champion with Chivas de Guadalajara in 2017 under the orders of Matías Almeyda and is fondly remembered. Now in the Greek Super League, the Mexican soccer player remembered Chivas and expressed that he wishes to return to the Sacred Flock in the future.
“God willing, we will come back later. Right now we are going to continue fulfilling the European dream here and we will see what happens later ”, Pineda said of his return to Guadalajara.

“I have great friends there, how nice that they are fighting for the first places,” said the Mexican soccer player.
Pineda is having a good season with AEK Athens in his second chance in Europe after not getting many minutes at La Liga side Celta Vigo. Pineda has 8 goals and 3 assists in 27 games with the Greek club also directed by Matías Almeyda.
For their part, Chivas de Guadalajara have had a good start in the tournament with victories against Rayados de Monterrey and Tigres UANL. With these numbers, Veljko Paunovic has better records than Almeyda and José Manuel de la Torre, the last coaches who made the team champions.
