Open the fourth call for ‘Get the juice out of your patent’ of MinCiencias • ENTER.CO

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation -MinCiencias- and the SIC keep open the fourth call for the program ‘Get the juice out of your patent’. This initiative will promote the technological readiness, commercialization and transfer of protected inventions in the country.

This initiative has rated 436 inventions, 277 people have been trained in technology transfer issues and has accompanied 55 proposals in enlistment. With this edition it is expected to select the most attractive projects. During one year, accompaniment will be carried out to close the process with a transfer agreement. Although the cost of accompanying innovation initiatives is 40 million pesos, and the program finances 90 to 98% of this value, depending on the type of beneficiary.

This program has the cooperation of the JOINN Colombian Network of OTRI. Therefore, its mission is to help Colombians who have a valid patent or a patent process for their invention ideas or utility model. Those who are selected with this program will go through a series of four stages to accelerate the process of commercializing their invention. The stages include the first selection of 75 inventions that meet the established criteria. Additionally, it will provide training and preparation through a theoretical/practical workshop, advice focused on facilitating the understanding of the processes that help the exploitation and commercialization of technologies.

After the preparation phase, a beneficiary selection which will be the 25 projects that will be accompanied in the process of enlistment and commercial management. Finally, in the phase of Technological readiness and commercial management will identify and validate the strategic, commercial and financial attributes of each of the inventions. Thus, inventions may be promoted and negotiated with interested parties.
