Nova SBE launches open innovation program with startups

Promoted in partnership with the Nova SBE Haddad Entrepreneurship Institute, this initiative will start in April.

Applications for the first edition of Nova SBE’s open innovation program with startups – Nova SBE FinTech Accelerator – are open until February 24th.

Growth stage startups and scale-ups that present innovative solutions and technologies for the financial services sector can apply. The initiative, promoted by Nova SBE Innovation Ecosystem in partnership with Nova SBE Haddad Entrepreneurship Institute, will start in April and run until the end of June.

During this period, it will promote the development of new and better processes, products and financial services, converging the solutions of startups with the concrete challenges launched exclusively by the members of the Nova SBE Innovation Ecosystem related to the Financial Services & Sustainable Finance cluster – ActivoBank , Banco Primus, INCM Lab, LTP Labs, Nordea Asset Management, Team Genesis by Morais Leitão, Pingo Doce / Jerónimo Martins and SIBS.

hybrid format

Boosting the meeting of mutual interests and knowledge between these different actors in the industry is the main objective of the program. Taking place in a hybrid format, the program will also provide moments of sharing about open innovation with startups, with students and the rest of the Nova SBE community.

‘Open and Embedded Finance’, ‘Payments’, ‘Digital Assets and DeFi’, ‘Financial
Inclusion and Sustainability’, ‘Data Management’ and ‘Blockchain and DLT’ are the
large challenge areas launched to the participants.

“The acceleration program is one of the four lines of action in open innovation
of the Nova SBE Innovation Ecosystem. We believe in making things happen through
bringing our corporate members closer to international startups at a more advanced stage of development.” says Rui Coutinho, Executive Director of Nova SBE Innovation Ecosystem.

“The school has a fundamental role to play in this sense, providing a safe and controlled environment for experimentation and free circulation of ideas oriented to economic and sustainable results”, he concluded.

Applications for the first edition of the Nova SBE FinTech Accelerator are open
open until the next 24 February 2023 and can be done here.
