No, “The Holiday” will not get a sequel

Recently, there have been rumors of a sequel to the Christmas classic “The Holiday” – the film where two women are tired of everyday life and unhappy love and therefore change countries and residences during the Christmas holidays. It’s been 16 years since the Christmas classic “The Holiday” first premiered starring Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Jack Black. Recently, the British newspaper The Sun reported that a sequel was planned and according to a source, it would start shooting next year, with all the main actors.

Now director Nancy Meyers denies the rumors on Instagram, where she writes, among other things, “Getting so many DM’s about this – but unfortunately it’s not true.” Even the actor Kate Winslet has denied the information in People magazine. “I read about it, but that was the first time I heard about it.” She also assures that there have been no talks at all about a sequel.

The romantic comedy was a huge success when it was released and the film has become a beloved Christmas classic. We at Metro Mode think it’s a bit sad that no sequel is planned!
