They say that the dog is usually man’s best friend. Through social networks, the story of a Newcastle fan who was affected by the mischief of his pet Rudy, who ate the ticket for the Carabao Cup final, emerged against Manchester United.
Alan Carling spent $87 on a ticket to the English League Cup final between Manchester United and Newcastle on November 26. However, now this fan of the “hurracas” was left without his physical ticket after his puppy, a Golden Retriever, caused a disaster at home.
The event occurred on February 18 after Newcastle’s defeat against Liverpool 0-2. Carling arrived at his home and found the destruction of his little friend, who decided to tear up the correspondence that he had left for his master in the mailbox.
“Rudy thinks there’s a break-in when a letter goes through the mailbox. He apparently thought it was a good idea to tear up Wembley tickets when he wasn’t home.”he would have written on his Facebook profile.
The man explained after this episode that he thought of selling the pet for just 5 pounds sterling, about $6 dollars. However, he later clarified that it was a joke and despite the destruction he will not part with Rudy.
Although the mascot destroyed the ticket, the Newcastle fan will be able to attend the final since fortunately the dog did not bite the QR code on the ticket. Carling will be able to scan it and access Wembley Stadium without problem.
The ‘Hurracas’ are being one of the revelation teams this season. Led by Miguel ‘Almirón’ and a neat game, they are fifth in the English Premier League with 41 points in 23 games.
