The results of a recent study showed that more than 70% of Colombians use the Internet to get information. This is how it was known in the Digital 2022 Global Overview Report.
The panorama of digital growth in one year has been 2.2%. While the number of users of social networks grew more than 7.2%, that is, for this year 2.8 million new profiles were created on the different platforms. Other interesting data from this study is that in Colombia there are 65.75 million connected phones. That is, each Colombian has an average of 1.2 cell phones. At least 45 million Colombians (81% of the population) are active on social networks.

The cell phone is still the king in Colombia with more than 98.1% of users who have this type of device. In addition, 97.7% have a Smartphone as their main electronic device. Interestingly, the use of Android devices fell by 0.4% while iOS devices grew by 3.5%.
On average, the time spent by Colombians on the Internet is 10 hours and a half, a figure that fell by 0.7% compared to the previous year. This time the largest number of Colombians consume video content by 96.1%. More than 64% of Colombians are concerned about the amount of false information circulating on the internet. Regarding the use of social networks, 81% of Colombians use them, with 52% of women and 48% of men. On average, Colombians spend 3 hours and 46 minutes a day connected to social networks.
WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram with the three social networks that are most used in Colombia. With 94%, 91.7% and 84.4% respectively. Facebook has a potential audience of 35.15 million users, of which 94.4% use the cell phone as the preferred device to access this social network.
