Microsoft opens call for Colombian startups for open innovation program • ENTER.CO

Spark is the name of the open innovation program in Latin America led by the business accelerator and incubator, Imagine, together with Microsoft. The initiative, which was launched in February 2022, seeks to encourage the development of startups in the region based on an agile collaboration model that connects projects with companies from various countries and markets. In this way, startups can provide innovative solutions to different company challenges, allowing the strengthening of long-term working alliances.

Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico and Chile are some of the countries that have been part of the program, which in turn has included companies such as Falabella Retail, Walmart and Kölbi. In the case of Colombia, Banco de Bogotá is the first company to join the initiative and has just opened a call for national and international startups to register and participate in it.

According to the parameters of Spark, the ventures that can participate in the program must meet certain requirements such as that their value proposition has already been validated in the market, that it has traction and that the startup is prepared to quickly start a pilot or proof of concept with participating companies.

The challenges that startups will face in the current call

In the case of Banco de Bogotá, its challenges are focused on attracting talent, training and job specialization, professional growth, and generating incentives. This means that if your startup can offer an innovative response to improve the identification of collaborator profiles that have the potential to grow within the bank, you could apply for the alliance.

For now, Colombian startups and entrepreneurs can only register for the challenges proposed by Banco de Bogotá, as it is the only company in the country that has calls enabled within the program. Registration to be part of it can be done at no cost through www.imagine-spark.com or @grupoimagine_ on Instagram, and will be open until June 12.
