Meta no longer wants to copy TikTok, now he goes for Twitch • ENTER.CO

It is well known that Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has integrated various features into its platforms that increasingly resemble TikTok. Interestingly, the new leak shows that they have shifted their focus from TikTok to Twitch. According to a report presented by Business Insider, Meta would be working on a platform called Super, which is essentially the same as Twitch.

The news came after some influencers spoke to Business Insider to say that Meta had contacted them about testing the platform. Likewise, a Meta spokesperson confirmed to the media that Super, Meta’s new product is not part (at least not yet) of Facebook, Instagram or any other company product.

But, this is not the first time that Super has been talked about. In 2020, Bloomberg reported that the tool was in development as a kind of Cameo, the platform where you can have video calls with celebrities and personalized videos. While some of these features seem to have stuck like taking selfies with creators, the platform is aiming more for a Twitch-like interface and operation.

Super would reportedly allow creators to monetize their live streams just like Twitch through marketing, donations, etc. Alternatively, followers could pay for additional features, subscriptions, and donations to their favorite influencer. Everything indicates that the creator could keep (for the moment) 100 percent of the earnings from his broadcasts. In addition, the platform has built-in video layouts, so creators don’t need a lot of technical knowledge to set up their live stream.

In fact, the website can already be visited in some countries, unfortunately, it is not available in Latin America. However, in the footer of the portal, it can be read “by NPE Team de Meta”; NPE refers to New Product Experimentation, the company’s team of developers who are responsible for launching new applications. Although there is no more information about Meta on the site, what is most curious is that TikTok is mentioned. The platform describes how you can simulcast your on TikTok Live. What will be the ace up Meta’s sleeve with Super?
