Merlina comes to Netflix to ask: what if Harry Potter and the Mad Adams had a very, very strange child?
The trend in recent years on TV has been to bring back the nostalgia… although never quite as expected. This week Netflix presented the first preview of Merlina (Wednesday in English), the series that will focus on the life of the Adams family.
The show was created by none other than Tim Burton (Corpse Bride, Big Fish), who also served as its director and executive producer. The story does not feature the entire cast of the Adams family, but instead will focus on their older daughter Merlina played by Jenna Ortega (Scream 6).
The best way to describe the show is the ‘Sabrina’ version, but now for the character of Merlina. The story begins when she is expelled from her school and enters the Never Again Academy. But if this was not all, the show now gives the character a psychic ability, while seeking to stop a wave of murders, solve a mystery of their parents’ days as students and create new friendships.

I mean, Harry Potter, but a lot bloodier and less PG13.
In addition to Ortega, the series has a very interesting cast. The new Adams family is played by Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams) and Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley Addams). In addition to this, it has the participation of Gwendoline Christie (Director Larissa Weems), Jamie McShane (Sheriff Galpin), Percy Hynes White (Xavier Thorpe), Hunter Doohan (Tyler Galpin), Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair), Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay ), Naomi J Ogawa (Yoko Tanaka), Moosa Mostafa (Eugene Ottinger), Georgie Farmer (Ajax Petropolus), Riki Lindhome (Dr. Valerie Kinbott), with Christina Ricci (Marilyn Thornhill).
For now, Merlina does not have a release date, in addition to a window for its release in 2022.
