Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are ready for the premiere aira film based on true events that will be screened for the first time on March 18, within the film festival South By Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas. In the film Damon plays Phil Knightwho proposed in 1984 to Sonny Vaccaro (Affleck) pitch in signature Nike a line of sports shoes inspired by the basketball player Michael Jordanwhich become a bestseller.
“Air” marks Affleck’s return as a director and will be released commercially in US theaters on April 5. The script was written by Alex Converywhile in the main cast they also stand out Viola Davis (as the mother of Michael Jordan), Jason Batemann and Chris Tucker.
It’s a statement Ben Affleck expressed his enthusiasm for the screening of air at the festival: “I couldn’t be more excited to wow the SXSW audience with our first screening of air. The energy in Austin is unique and we know audiences will respond to the film’s inspiring story and brilliant performances.”
