Several celebrities have been charged with crypto fraud linked to crypto companies Tronix and BitTorrent. Among other things, the actor Lindsay Lohan and the YouTube profile Jake Paul are said to have contributed to stirring up interest in return for payment.
According to the American regulatory authority SEC, several celebrities have been paid by the company’s founder Justin Sun, without it being clear that they received payment. Now eight celebrities are charged with having been involved in the fraud.
Lindsay Lohanshall according to The Wall Street Journal, having received SEK 100,000 to write about the company on Twitter. The celebrities charged, in addition to Lindsay Lohan and Jake Paul, are Solja Boy, Austin Mahone, Akon, Ne-Yo, Lil Yachty and Kendra Lust. All defendants, except Solja Boy and Austin Mahone, have agreed to a settlement where they together pay SEK 4 million.
