Las Vegas and San Diego could be included in the MLS when being considered for the expansion of the tournament in the United States

Major League Soccer in the United States has had different new teams in recent years, something that undoubtedly helps the growth of the tournament. However, competition organizers are considering Las Vegas and San Diego for a new set.

This was announced this Wednesday, days in which the official presentation to the media of the 2023 season of the MLSwhich will start this same Saturday, February 25, with the meeting between New York City and Nashville SC.

In addition, in said presentation they also talked about the next campaign and that is that the MLS commissioner Don Garbercommented that a new franchise will be announced soon in the league.

“The team number 30 will be known very soon, we hope to announce it at the end of the year”commented Garber who also stated that “They need to expand the league” and that “other major professional sports leagues in America) are bigger than that“.

Together, Garber not only stated that this year the 30th MLS team will be announced, but also that He also advanced the possible places where this team could make life.

“I think San Diego and Las Vegas have the most likely opportunities for number 30”although he also revealed that other parts of the United States can be included in the MLS, in which they are: Detroit, Phoenix, Sacramento and Tampa as other alternatives to the new franchise which will possibly make life in the Western Conference of the MLS.
