Reality star Kim Kardashian recently got her hands on a really iconic piece of jewelry worn by Princess Diana. The price tag ended up at just over two million kroner, more than double the asking price.
The iconic piece of jewelry also goes by the name “Attallah Cross” and has been worn on several occasions by Princess Diana. Among other things, the princess had to borrow the jewelry from the luxury jeweler Garrard to wear it at a charity gala in London in 1997. When the jewelry was recently sold by the auction house Sotheby’s, it was Kim Kardashian who made the highest bid of just over SEK 2,090,000.
Received criticism after Marilyn Monroe dress
Kim Kardashian has previously shown an interest in iconic clothing and accessories. Among other things, she received a lot criticism after wearing Marilyn Monroe’s dress at the 2022 Met Gala. On that occasion, Kim had to borrow the garment from the Ripley’s museum in Florida. She was then accused of causing permanent damage to the iconic dress originally worn during John F Kennedy’s 45th birthday in 1962.
According to Kristian Spofforth at Sotheby’s, it is unusual for jewelry owned or worn by the late Princess Diana to come on the market. “To some extent, this unusual pendant is symbolic of the princess’ growing confidence in her choices,” he said ahead of the auction.
