Julia Fox was the name on everyone’s lips in January when she dated Kanye West following his tumultuous split from Kim Kardashian. Now Fox says in a video on TikTok that she actually dated the artist for Kardashian’s sake.
It was in January of this year that several media outlets reported that artist Kanye “Ye” West had started dating actress and model Julia Fox nearly a year after his separation from Kim Kardashian.
The romance didn’t last long: just in time for Valentine’s Day, several media outlets reported that Fox and West had gone their separate ways. Now Fox is claiming that she actually dated West to get him to leave Kardashian alone, something she talks about in a new video on TikTok.
“Wanted to make him leave Kim alone”
Fox begins by saying that she had intended to tell about her relationship with Kanye in a book, but that she decided to do it “for free” on TikTok instead. She claims to have looked up to the Kardashian sisters for many years:
“I’ve always loved Kim, especially, and also Kourtney, especially, like all of them pretty much. But no, the three biggest: Khloé Kim Kourtney. They are my girls.”
Fox goes on to say that when she and Kanye got together, he hadn’t yet done anything controversial — other than changing a lyric in one of his songs to “Come back to me, Kimberly.” She also claims that Kanye texted her persistently, even though she “didn’t really respond.”
“He was like, ‘You have bad texting etiquette,’ and I’m just, ‘Oh my God, Kanye is mad at me. What do I do?’ But then I had an idea: I thought, ‘My God, maybe I can get him to leave Kim alone. Maybe I can distract him, just get him to like me. And I knew that if anyone could do it, it was me because when I decide to do something, I do it.”
“He didn’t let me help him”
Fox points out that Kanye wasn’t on Twitter at all during the month they were together:
“He was not on any social media at all. He didn’t even talk about his relationship. All we talked about was clothes and weird ideas and plans for the future and our hopes and dreams for childhood and education. And it was very beautiful.”
She ends by saying she left Kanye “as soon as he started tweeting”:
“The media reported the end of our relationship a week later, or something. So for that week I think you thought we were together, but we weren’t. I had already said, ‘I won’t be around when this shit happens’. I also realized pretty quickly that he wasn’t going to let me help him.”
