Alexa Grasso gave the bell last weekend and established itself as the new flyweight champion of the UFCdefeating Valentina Shevchenko, the wide favorite in the fight.
This victory in the fourth round not only placed the one from Guadalajara as the third Mexican to be crowned in UFConly after Brandon Moreno and Yair “Pantera” Rodriguezbut also guarantees juicy profits from now on.
It is worth remembering that Grasso, 29, was not even in the top three before his fight against Shevchenko, so his salary was not compared to that of the top stars, since it was $86 thousand dollars per fightand; however, Now that he is a monarch, he can afford to earn up to 7 or 8 times more.
Although the exact amount is unknown, it is estimated that could reach $600 thousand dollars, since other Mexican champions are around more or less the same number. As a reference we can mention Brandon Morenowho in his last fight he earned $642 thousand dollars.
We will know this for sure soon, when the champion makes her first defense of the flyweight belt. At the moment there is no date for the fight, but the average rest between fights for fighters of her level is four months, so in the middle of the year we could see her return.
