The model Irina Shayk was one of those who showed off garments from H&M’s new collection Innovation Metaverse Design Story collection at the historic Royal Albert Hall in London during the Monday evening when this year’s Fashion Awards took place.
Focus on recycled materials
Innovation Metaverse Design Story collection is inspired by the increasingly blurred boundaries between the real world and the growing online world. In terms of style, the novelties are characterized by eye-catching silhouettes, intricate embroideries and a futuristic color palette.
Shayk, who wore a shimmery brown dress made from recycled polyester, said she appreciated the chain’s focus on sustainability in the new collection:
“I love dressing up for the red carpet and I like to explore a more colorful style right now. It feels very exciting to be able to wear an exquisitely designed evening dress from H&M embellished with sequins, and I love that it’s made from recycled plastic bottle waste,” she said.
Shayk’s dress is far from the only garment in the collection made from recycled materials: in fact, several of the clothes are made up of materials recycled from textile waste.
