To highlight Black History Month – the month in which people in the US pay attention the historical role of the black population – Hailey Bieber talks about her favorite products from black-owned companies in a new series on YouTube.
“Revolutionized my skin”
In the first episode, Bieber talks about the skincare brand BeautyStat, founded by Ron Robinson who has previously developed products for Clinique, L’Oreal and Revlon. BeautyStat’s serum Universal C Skin Refiner Serum has become big on TikTok, and for good reasons:
“It’s the world’s first serum that contains 20 percent pure vitamin C, which was groundbreaking in the skin care industry,” says Bieber. “It has revolutionized my skin.”
Has become big on TikTok
The serum’s popularity on TikTok is due, among other things, to the skin specialist Dr. Muneeb Shah’s video about the product. He says that vitamin C is an antioxidant that promotes collagen production and counteracts pigmentation, but that the vitamin in its active form has difficulty penetrating the skin.
He therefore recommends a serum that contains between eight and twenty percent vitamin C – which BeautyStat’s serum. Dr. Muneeb Shah says he applies vitamin C in the morning, after cleansing, and stresses the importance of using sunscreen afterwards.
