The suspended pedestrian bridge over the Paiva River, considered one of the largest in the world, is already one of the great attractions of the Arouca region. The normal ticket for crossing the suspended pedestrian bridge costs 12 euros, with tickets available for 10 euros for students and over 65s, as well as family packs. Book tickets for a hassle-free experience.
The Bridge Crossing Experience it is forbidden to children under six years old, but for households with older children, a cheaper pack of 30 euros is available for two adults and a child, and another for 40 euros, for couples with two minors.
You Citizens with proven residence in Arouca will continue to have free access to the new suspended pedestrian bridge by purchasing a resident card, as was already the case with Passadiços do Paiva. The cost of this document is now 5 euros (before it was 2.5 euros).
Always in line with the schedule of the walkways, in April, the new Ponte 516 Arouca can be visited between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm. Then, from May to September it will be open from 8 am to 8 pm, in October it will be open again from 9 am to 7 pm and from November to March it will only be available between 9 am and 5 pm.
Pay close attention to this detail: entry to 516 Arouca presupposes purchasing the respective tickets in advance. Purchase them in time to guarantee your visit, as entries are limited and tickets are not sold on site.
