The figure of Gerard Piqué has increased his media exposure since it became known that he would have been unfaithful to the Colombian singer Shakira. Now, the former FC Barcelona player received a million-dollar offer from a dating website for cheaters with the aim of sponsoring one of his businesses.
The page in question is called Ashley Madison and its target is people with unfaithful partners or seeking discreet relationships. Seeking to take advantage of all the spotlight that the controversy with Shakira is generating for Piqué, the company has offered more than one million dollars to become a sponsor of FC Andorra, the second division team that Gerard owns.
At the end of February, the company used the social network Twitter to publicly contact Piqué and send him not just a message, but the formal offer in a two-page contract.
“Gerard Piqué, we saw how things developed with your ex Shakira. We believe in #nonmonogamy without prejudice, which is why we have offered to sponsor your FC Andorra team. Your movement!”, they wrote in a tweet in which they labeled the producer Bizarrap and the Colombian Karol G, who recently brought up a song with the Catalan’s ex-partner.
Although it could be a joke, in the images of the tweet there are two photographs of digital documents that contain the offer, which basically focuses on paying one million euros ($1,062,265.00 dollars) for a three-year contract that guarantees the appearance logo on the team jersey.
In one of the sections of the digital dossier you can see the existence of a clause that establishes the payment of $53,000 dollars for each FC Andorra player who officially demonstrates and confirms that they have a non-monogamous relationship.
The amount could rise to $159,000 if the soccer player used Ashley Madison’s platform to find that new partner. At the moment it is not known if Gerard Piqué has responded to this offer.
In the past, this dating app has caused a sensation by running popular advertising campaigns using the emeritus king of Spain, Juan Carlos I, or the former monarch Carlos of England as its image.
