He FC Barcelonathrough its president Joan Laporta and his foundation, sent a message of solidarity for all the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, that so far it has claimed more than 17,000 lives.
In a video message on social networks and a statement published on its website, the culé club expressed its position and announced that will provide help through the organizations with which the FC Barcelona Foundation collaborates, such as Acnur, Red Cross, Save The Children, Unicef and World Vision.
“From FC Barcelona and the Foundation we want to give our support to all the victims and those affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. We convey our solidarity and we are with you in these hard times. From FC Barcelona we encourage them to collaborate with the humanitarian organizations with which we usually work, and which are already intervening with their teams in the affected area at the moment”, stated Laporta, president of the Blaugrana team.
How is Barcelona doing in La Liga?
Regarding sports, the culé team remains firm in its race for the title of the Spanish league, since is in first place in the general table and has an 8-point advantage over Real Madridhis closest rival and 14 above Real Sociedad, which occupies the third step.
Barcelona’s next commitment will be this Sunday against Villarreal in the home tournament, before facing Manchester United next Thursday in the UEFA Europa League.
