Falua announces investment of five million

Falua’s investment started in 2022 and will extend until 2024. The production of excellent wines is the main objective.

Continuing the expansion of the area of ​​its own vineyards in different regions, Falua has just reinforced the viticulture area with an investment plan of more than 5 million euros to be carried out until 2024, totaling 200 hectares of vineyards in the Tagus Region and 31 hectares in the Region of Vinho Verde.

With the purchase of 80 hectares next to the emblematic Vinha do Convento, in the sub-region of Charneca – Tagus Region, Falua now owns a continuous area of ​​125 hectares, in a total of 200 hectares in the Tagus region.

The investment plan contemplates the planting of more than 60 hectares of vines from scratch, in addition to the conversion of 17 hectares. In the Vinho Verde Region, the investment covers the planting of vines of the Loureiro and Alvarinho varieties, with 11 hectares of Loureiro installed in 2022 in Soutelo, in the municipality of Vila Verde, giving rise to a vineyard that will surround the historic Casa da Torre .

In turn, the centuries-old Quinta do Hospital, in Monção, has planted another 10 hectares of vines, bringing the total to 20 hectares of exclusive vineyards of the Alvarinho variety in the sub-region of Monção and Melgaço.

“This investment started in 2022 and will run until 2024, in order to allow growth based on our values ​​of sustainability and great respect for nature”, highlights Antonina Barbosa, winemaker and general director of Falua.

“We are not only investing in the acquisition of land for the installation of vineyards, but above all in the conditions that allow us to guarantee the production of high quality grapes to continue producing wines of excellence”, he concluded.
