Bruce Willis’ family recently announced that he has been diagnosed with frontal lobe dementia, which is the third most common form of dementia. Last Sunday filled Die Hard– the actor aged 68, a day that became emotional for his wife Emma Heming Willis.

“He is pure love”

“Today is my husband’s birthday,” Emma said in her story on Instagram. “I have started the morning crying as you can see from my swollen eyes and runny nose. I think it’s important that you see all sides of this.”

Emma went on to say that since her husband’s diagnosis, she is often told that she is “strong”:

“I have no choice. I wish I had, but I’m also raising two kids in the middle of all of this. Sometimes we just have to pick ourselves up and keep going. And that’s what I do. But I also have moments when I’m sad, every day, sadness every day, and I really feel it today, on his birthday.”

Later that day, Emma posted another post with video clips of Bruce Willis and his family.

“He is pure love. He is so loved. And I will always love him,” she captioned the touching post.
